Join Dragonfly instructor Sam Barrett for a 4-week Spring Cleanse Series. Spring! A time for rebirth, rejuvenation, and a time when we rise up from the darkness of winter. You may have a few Spring rituals that you participate in like a deep house cleaning or spending more time outdoors.  This workshop series will focus on how Yoga and Ayurveda can support you by honoring the cycles and seasons of nature within our own bodies and minds. Each week will include breathing practices, Yoga sequences, Ayurvedic rituals, supportive foods, and meditation.

April 8, 15, 22, 29
5:45 – 6:45 p.m.

April 8: Breathing + Moving

We will discuss how to use the various limbs of yoga to support cleansing not only the body but the mind as well.  Beginning with Pranayama (breathing practices) and a Vinyasa sequence, we will create heat within the body to begin a process of detoxification at the physical and energetic levels of being.

April 15: Ayurvedic Practices

We will dive into some Ayurveda.  Ayurveda is the ‘sister science of Yoga’ and focuses on the knowledge of life. Various Ayurvedic practices have been used to support gentle cleansing during seasonal changes.  We will discuss a few of those practices as well as foods that can be extra supportive at this time.   A seasonal grocery list will be provided as well as a few recipes.

April 22: Yin Yoga for the Liver

We will go inward for a delicious Yin practice to support the organ of Spring which is the liver. We will do a few poses and discuss points along this organ meridian to stimulate its optimal functioning and clear out any stuck or stagnant energy.

April 29: Chakra Cleansing Meditation

We will focus on meditation.  You will be guided through a chakra balancing meditation with an option to sit in a chair or be reclined.

This workshop is appropriate for all levels.  No previous experience or knowledge needed to participate.
