Become a Yoga Therapist!
The Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy Program is designed to certify you to work with individuals within the yoga therapy model. Upon completion, you will have the information and skills to work one-on-one with people for a wide range of conditions.
The course will teach you anatomy, philosophy, theory, and how to apply this information and tools in a therapeutic setting. The BDYT foundations course is structured to be completed in about one year (or slower, if you choose) with an option to continue into our 871-hour IAYT based program.
Course Content
The main part of this course will be delivered in 52 online lectures (see course outline). You’ll have two ways to complete the course work:
1) The Yoga Therapy Training group will meet weekly at Dragonfly to watch a lecture, discuss them as a group, and begin working on that lecture’s homework. These groups will be facilitated by Dragonfly owner and BDYT graduate Joe Simek.
2) Take these classes at home. They will be available for you online 24/7, allowing you to take them anytime or if you miss any of our sessions.
This combination will give you the support you need to complete the course and truly understand the material.
Weekly Q&As with Brandt
You will also receive access to a weekly, live, online, group Q&A with Brandt to delve deeper into material and questions. These weekly times change according to the group’s needs. There is also a community forum for all trainees to ask questions that arise at anytime.
Weekend Retreats
There are three retreats as part of the course certification. These retreats can be taken in New York or as a distance learning option “remotely”, offered three times/year. To complete the Foundations Program you must either attend each of the weekend retreats, the remote retreats, or a combination of the two. They do not need to be in the same year or in any specific order. This allows for students to move through the program at their own pace. Each retreat will cover yoga teachings, Sadhna, and muscle testing/structural analysis.
Payment: The retreats are billed separately from the course tuition (to be paid at the time of retreat registration). The fee will vary depending on the accommodations you choose. Generally, the weekend cost is around $500-$700 per weekend including 2 nights and all meals and the remote retreats are in the $350 range.
Weekend retreats dates can be found HERE.
